Peter Breslin, MD
Peter Breslin, MD, FAPA is an Addiction Medicine Specialist and Psychiatrist. His passion for people in recovery goes beyond the treatment table. He is a strong advocate in the General Assembly and within mental health and addiction Councils throughout Virginia and Washington, DC. The change that needs to happen for the Addiction and Recovery community are at a legislative level, judicial level as well as the treatment rooms we interact in.
Erin Mayberry
Practice ManagerAs a woman in long-term recovery from substance use disorder, Erin finds great joy in supporting others on their pathways to recovery. She previously served as a jail programs facilitator and Director of Female Programs with the McShin Foundation. Before entering the recovery field, she spent 13 years in dentistry as an orthodontic technician and certified oral and maxillofacial surgical technician.
Erin is an alumna of Mary Baldwin University, where she double-majored in International Relations and Asian Studies and served as a cadet in the Virginia Women’s Institute for Leadership. She loves learning and embraces the uncertainty of where life may lead.
In her spare time, Erin enjoys time with her daughters, playing with her dog, reading, and watching scary movies with her fiancé.
Alden Conner, LPC
Clinical DirectorAlden is a Licensed Professional Counselor supporting individuals from early adolescence through adulthood with life transitions, self-exploration, relationship and family challenges, and anxiety. She creates a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, their relationships, and their experiences. Her authentic, compassionate approach combines humor and directness to foster connection, growth, self-awareness, and confidence.
Alden draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s needs. She also provides clinical supervision for residents pursuing LPC or LMFT licensure.
Holly Pippen
Billing SpecialistHolly is part of the front desk patient care team and is often one of the first friendly faces patients see when they arrive. With an Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing and Coding, she’s the go-to person for billing questions and insurance concerns.
Holly values teamwork and enjoys building genuine connections with patients, helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who visits the practice as they begin or continue their journey toward recovery and mental wellness. When she’s not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, their three children, and their dog. She especially enjoys fishing and spending time near the water.
Klay Porter, R-PRS
Peer Recovery Specialist
Klay is a Magohick, Virginia native and a Registered Peer Recovery Specialist at Verity Psychiatry. He previously worked at The McShin Foundation from 2022–2025, where he served in multiple roles including volunteer, intern, Men’s Program Manager, and Medication and Urinalysis Manager. During his time there, he supported recovery housing operations and programs serving up to 150 residents, working closely with peer leaders to maintain structured, peer-driven recovery environments.
As a person in recovery himself, he is passionate about helping individuals find what works best for them and advocates for multiple pathways of recovery, harm reduction, and living safe, meaningful lives. Prior to entering the recovery field, he worked in the banking industry with Capital One and Bank of America. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors, drinking good coffee, working on art projects, and listening to rock music.
Michael Roberson, R-PRS
Peer Recovery Specialist
Michael is a Virginia native and is a person in long-term recovery from substance use disorder. His experience as a person in recovery inspired him to work with others on their recovery journey. He is currently a college student pursuing a nursing degree and hopes to become a Psych and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. In his spare time, Michael enjoys shopping with friends, hosting dinners, and antiquing.
Tracy Upchurch, PRS
Peer Recovery Specialist
Tracy Upchurch is a dedicated behavioral health professional who brings compassion, authenticity, and lived experience to everything she does. With a background in peer recovery support, medication coordination, leadership, and client services, Tracy has developed a deep passion for helping individuals feel seen, supported, and hopeful about their future.
Tracy believes some of the most meaningful connections begin with simply meeting people where they are. Her own life experiences have shaped her into a compassionate and nonjudgmental advocate who understands that a person’s past does not determine their future.
Outside of her professional role, Tracy is a devoted mother who values family, personal growth, and giving back to her community. She strives to lead with honesty, empathy, and purpose and hopes that every person she encounters walks away feeling a little more supported than they did before.
Beth-Ann Shaheen
